We all know if you win the Royal Rumble you receive a championship match at WM, when did this start? In 1988 and 1989 the winners were Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Big John Studd and Im pretty sure neither of these men ever had a tittle match at WM, if this is true what did they win ?

1988 - 1991 there was no prize
1992 - the winner won the WWF title
1993 onwards - The winner got a title shot.

Yes you are correct. At Survivor Series '91 The Undertaker defeated Hulk Hogan with assistance from Ric Flair. A week later at Tuesday In Texas Hogan won the title back by smashing 'Taker with his urn, because of this WWF President Jack Tunney stripped Hogan of the title and it went up for grabs at Royal Rumble
