Anways, screw a Ghost type. I'd rather have a Steel one myself as all the Eeveelutions thus far don't really focus on defense and Steel types are notorious for having high defense.

Yeah, you don't know Pokemon well enough to know that Vaporeon and Umbreon focus on defense. But I will say that isn't apparent purely on their design.

I will admit that I overlooked Umbreon but Vaporeon is high in HP, not necessarily defense.

I will admit that I overlooked Umbreon but Vaporeon is high in HP, not necessarily defense.

in terms of competitive battling Vaporeons is above average. Umbreons is higher but as you said lower hp
Espeon can be used defensively and offensively
