If you would make these superstars Vs. it should be at Wrestlemania 30. We can not tell who would win between the two eras because it has not happend yet.

There have been numerous topics, blogs and comparisons about the attitude era vs. The PG era, I think its impossible to say that one is better than the other cause they are so different in so many ways, I have watched wwe since Wrestlemania 1 and you can’t compare that era to this new era as well, I loved the attitude era for the great storytelling, the awesome performance of most wrestlers as complete (Wrestling ability/Mic skills/Person) but once in a while they got a little bit carried away and that’s what cost them in the long run, in the modern era we get to see great wrestling matches, some very great promos (CM Punk) and many new faces, but for my opinion on the matter, if the wwe could balance the 2 eras they would have a killer product, a little edgier from time to time but not get carried away, and still do some funny stuff like Santino for the kids, that would be a great show to watch for all, if the writers actually can do a decent job that is.

To me it has to be the Attitude Era, to me it wasn't about blood and swearing, simply better story lines & better fleshed out characters.
Seems that no one has any back story or any real 'gimmick' anymore, the characters in the attitude era seemed more organic and the wrestlers seemed like they were having a good time portraying them, maybe they had more input back then.
Everything now seems to overproduced and 'rehearsed'.
If they could have the storylines and the fleshed out characters of the AE (even midcarders had interesting storylines) with the matches they have now things would be a lot better.

The Attitude Era was better because it had legendary guys like HBK Triple H Stone Cold The Rock and Undertaker in their primes. Also their were better storylines etc. But the WWE today isn't as bad as people make it out to be.

SImply put; Wrestling is about telling a story in the ring. The attitude era had entertainers that could pretty much sell a 30-minute punch fest, and make it look like a wrestling classic (which many matches have become). Today has more athleticism, i wouldn't say they are better "wrestlers" because that term doesn't exist. Stone Cold pre-injury was far better than most on the roster today. I really can't find ONE good reason to choose today over AE apart from the athleticism. The guys today are smaller, more agile and rely more on technical wrestling. Today however is far more cookie cutter and is completely different; it's simply moved with the times and restarted that old cycle of catering to the young generation now that the older fan base started dropping off (2003ish).

Yet all you will hear is that in Cena and Orton's prime, all WWE would repeatedly mention was The Rock and Stone Cold. They wont ever come close to the legends of the four guys he mentioned because they never even touched 9.0 ratings etc Those four are freaks in the sense that they all came along at the same time. They had so many fans of the product back then, that they are well known names, even to people who don't watch wrestling! People STILL know Hulk Hogan! Hardly anybody knows who John Cena is in comparison.

That had nothing to do with the internet. I was sure of that match the moment Punk attacked Rock on raw1000. I will say this trend of announcing what will happen months ahead of time is a big problem because it makes everything in between seem like a waste of time.

Okay, I'm not going to bash any era, because they were all good in certain aspects. I've lived through 3 eras: Rock n Wrestling, AE and PG. I've always been biased because of fond childhood memories to the RW era, where they were less than PG rated, but had legends we all still talk about and rank in the top five of all time, most of the time...Hogan, Flair, Savage, Andre, even Heenan.

Now with that being said and admitting my biased upfront there's nobody that can convince me personally that the AE wasn't the best era, because it was IMO.

In the RW era and also in todays PE era one took their share of shit admitting that they are wrestling fans. You've all heard it "its fake" "why do watch that fake crap" "what are you 8yrs old"

Now when the AE was going it was shock TV and it was suddenly a shock to me that it was cool to be a wrestling fan. People were coming out of the closet and admitting with no shame that they liked wrestling. Even in professional settings people were using lines like "It doesn't matter who you are" "and that's the bottom line because stone cold said so" "and if you're not down with that, we got to words for ya" People were doing NWO two fingers touching other fingers..."just too sweeeeeeet!" They were doing the DDP bang. Saying "big poppa pump is your hook up." etc etc etc....It was more than mainstream pop culture. It was in style. The AE did that. Best era ever IMO. No other era I've seen has had that much impact on everyday society.
