The way I see it, I'd be annoyed if someone didn't do my character justice, and even more annoyed if they did. What I mean by the second part is that I create a character to be unique and contrasting to anyone else, if someone else is able to replicate my work then it means i'm not doing a good enough job.

I don't like this idea. I think there's two main problems with it.

1. I don't see anybody being able to write for my characters and me be entirely happy about it. Benny wrote a Kyojin promo for IWA last week (entirely my fault, so I don't blame him) and while he did a decent job, I just don't think Kyo had the same spark he does when I wrote for him.

2. I think I'd feel like I'd let somebody down if I tried to write for their characters. Whenever I have to do this for creative reasons, I tend to do a couple paragraphs and that's it (unless the promo is a VERY important one- i.e. Will.I.Am on the final HWA show). The fact is, they're not my characters and I wouldn't have the same motivation to write for their character as I do for my own.

Abso-fucking-lutely this. Can't say it any better than Ed here. I remember trying to cover Tommy for T-Thunda once, wrote some lines, than he sent me his stuff, which was by far better and more organic than any shit I could try. And while my characters can be easy to portray, there are some elements that are proper to myself, and not sure if people could have those same ideas.

Any Istvan promo I've ever read that I didn't type has made me cringe. That is by no means an insult to anyone, because those that have done so for me have done a marvelous job. Especially johnnydropkicks, but, it's still kinda hard to read someone else writing for your character.
