Is Christian good enough?

Ok I created an account just to respond to this thread. Is Christian good enough? You better believe he is. WWE dropped the ball on him severely. Did he get a rub from Edge's retirement? Yeah he did, and they created a seriously magical moment when he won the WHC in that ladder match against Del Rio. Go ahead, look at the ending from that match. Everybody in the stadium was up and cheering like crazy for him. WWE created a star. And then Smackdown happened. They'll killed Christian, his momentum, and his WHC run in 2 freaking days as he lost to Orton. They had great matches in that fued but Christian never looked strong at all. Why not let Christian run with the title a little before that? Why not let him establish himself as a legit champion and crowd favorite? Coming of the heels of Edge's retirement, and having that being his first main event title you had the crowd behind him and a new face of the company. Had WWE not had Orton KILL Christian this thread wouldn't be up and we would be looking a Christian way differently.

Fan perception eh? It's still given to the typical social judgements of everyday life. Lol, I bet in real life Punk rescues kittens and shit. Also, you never really see stories on the news about the guy you'd suspect doing some fucked up shit (you DO but not as often) it's usually the guy next door looking fella who gets caught sticking it to the local kiddies or shooting up a mall or some equally horrible shit.

From what I hear Punk has isn't as patient as the other wrestlers when it comes to fans. And this idea that Punk is an outcast has always been a part of his character, from the moment he debuted on ECW. It was smart of Heyman to take a risk and allow Punk to be something different when he debuted in ECW. I think that's why the fans are more comfortable with him being a sociopath of sorts, it's not something spontaneous (like the Biker gimmick for Taker). You can take any heel run of Punk's and it always gives off the same sort of vibe. His face turn just flat out sucked. If anyone was fixed to a heel affiliation it would be Punk.

It felt like the title was given to him only as a thank you to Edge.

I wouldn't say it was given him to him to say thanks to Edge, but it was given to him for his past accomplishments with Edge rather than for his current accomplishments

Christian a few years ago could have done it, if they had had him fued with Edge and come out on top, but he is just too fragile now, ever since he lost the WHC about 18 months ago he has been in action for about two months, in about three separate periods.

His prime has gone.

The man is the definition of mid card. Crap move set, bad promos and always outshined by whoever he feuded against.

Christian has NEVER been as good as many in the IWC make him out to be.

He's just a reliable, prominent, mid-carder who, like Kane and Mark Henry, was given a run with the WHC title for his years of hard work.

Im also in the minority here. I dont see him as a believable world champion. I think he has great mic skills (look back to 2003-2005 during that heel run) also good in ring ability but he doesnt have the look. I also think that one of the reasons he was given the title was because of Edge's retirement.

would he have won it if Edge was still active? Maybe, but only because of years of service. Similar to Mark Henry.

I dont think he will have a run with the title again. Mainly because his track record of injuries in the past 2 years.I think we've seen more of Sgt. Slaughter than we have of Christian.

WWE had dropped ball on him twice..

1. When Captain Charisma was ruling with his problem solver....that was the time if used properly, Christian might have become the best heel of the age..those who think his mic skills are bland..just go n browse his Captain Charisma days....

2. When Edge retired, n Christian won the WHC...they made a huge star in Christian, if they might have allowed him..he being the veteran he is, might have been a great face champion...

WWE dropped ball on him on these two occasions...people who think Edge's retirement helped him second time...if Edge is not retired, they both might have feuded..n I still blame WWE for not giving that kick ass main event feud b/n Edge n Christian....

I as a huge mark of Christian want to see him have one last reign as WWE champion n feuds with Punk, Bryan, Ziggler and Miz...
