Rock, cena, austin, are all greats but jericho had it all on either side of the fence (face/heel).
People who know wrestling....actually wrestling fans would tell you, they'd tune in to see Austin and Rock before Jericho. People I talk to cousins, friends, ect. say that the reason they stopped watching is because superstars like them were no longer on there. I like Jericho and believe he is in the HOF one day, but do I believe he will headline a HOF like a HBK, Rock, Bret, Austin, or Hogan? I don't believe he is on that level. If he was, he sure would have had a 2nd world title reign in like 7-8 years.....world titles are not everything? Isn't that the main event, isn't that the draw, isn't that what brings people in? Someone told me the other day on here that Rock doesn't need the WWE title....he is bigger than that. Can you say the same for the likes of Jericho? I don't think so.......only a select few is in that category.

Exactly and the same goes for Jericho not being on the level of HHH or Taker. If any of those 4 guys retire and come back to face a young guy like Cena or Punk=main event. If Jericho vs Punk wasn't for the WWE title it wouldn't have been. Which is why he isn't on their level. It is like, what would fans rather see, Punk vs Austin or Punk vs Jericho at WM28 last year? I know Punk was pitching big time for Punk vs Austin. He wasn't pitching that hard for Jericho on twitter among other things. No question they'd choose like Punk would have chose to face Austin. Austin is up there and Jericho is down there.

Rock lost to Goldberg on his first ppv match and both put over HHH a ton of times. Don't sit there and tell me they didn't work with younger talent. You obviously have shades on over you bias towards Jericho. Who in the hell said amount of world titles either has won meant a damn thing? I didn't. I stated if he was as good as you claim he is, he should be one of the top main events every year for Mania especially when you are facing Mr.Wrestlemania on the biggest stage. It happens he gets put down in the midcard? How does it happen if they are on the level of Austin and Rock? CM Punk was going to leave because he was so angry about it. He even stated on his DVD he was upset by the way he lost his first world title. Jericho said it himself he wouldn't have been in that undisputed title match had HHH been there. How can you go from main eventing WM as undisputed champion and go back to the midcard so quickly if he is on the level of Austin/Rock.
I don't even like Jericho! So, I am not blinded by him. The most blinded person on this thread is you. Any cogent and reasoned argument anyone makes, is shot down by you as "We are blinded by our love of Superstar X." Great argument.

But you're talking about Chris Jericho here. The guy slogged harder than Rock to get here and he's much more FOR the business than Rocky. And it shows.

Rock was borne unto the business and it was his second or third career choice. Never mind that. He got a major break by being Rocky Johnson's son. But that only got him in the door. Then he was fortunate enough to be chosen by Vince to head up the driving of a major character. Through direction and most certainly, talent of his own, The Rock became one of the biggest stars ever.

Now take Jericho. The guy had a burning desire to be in the business. He slogged, he toured and he did whatever it took to get to where he is. That's fine, it doesn't necessarily mean he's more entitled. However, Jericho wasn't handed a microphone - he wasn't thrust into the spotlight - he got there all on his own. More slog. More work. More real emotion. In the ring and on the mic. And it shows.

I guess it just depends where you're standing though.
Don't fret Amerinaine, I'm still waiting for him to get to this.

He still never responded to my "I grew up flipping off my brothers" comment. I'm a little saddened by that.

I think some of it may have been 'being in the right place at the right time' so to speak. Austin rose to popularity receiving the push meant for HHH. Turns out Haitch was punished for the MSG incident and subsequently had to wait. Im not saying if that never happened Austin wouldn't have made it but we'll never know.

I also believe Rock and Austin are percieved to be bigger stars is because they were strongly booked and shoved down our throats a lot. With the same booking Jericho would have been as 'great' but maybe he didnt have 'the look' that Vinnie Mac looks for.

The best in the world at what he does

No they weren't, they were just very good. And remember that huge, off the scale charisma beats hard working wrestler (Y2J) every time. Austin had both, and that is rare and Jericho was very good but he was just not at that level of HUGE pops and HUGE buzz. Look at Macho Man - Better than Hogan clearly but played second fiddle to him for years. That's how I see Jericho.
