WWE Titles.. Hiow Many Do You Need?

I think the current NUMBER of titles is fine, but the belts need to be restructured and it needs to be made clear what they represent and who they're meant to be for. It's obvious that the WWE Title is the top prize and the World Heavyweight Title is a glorified midcard belt. But WWE can't decide whether they want it to be a world title or a midcard title so they try to have it be both. The idea of a "2nd tier world title" just feels wrong.

I think that these are the titles we should have.

• WWE Championship - For the absolute top guys in the company.
• Intercontinental Championship - The #2 title for the guys who have potential as stars, but aren't ready to carry the company. Wrestlers on this level may be moved up to WWE Title level whenever a fresh contender or champion is needed. Wrestlers on WWE Title level may step down to this championship in order to have something to do.
• European Championship (or a newly created Television Championship) - For the pure midcarders who won't be in a high profile storyline any time soon. This would be for the guys like Zack Ryder or Santino Marella to go after.
• And I would also propose a new gimmick championship, combining the concepts of the Hardcore Championship and the Light Heavyweight Championship. This title would be defended under Falls Count Anywhere/No-DQ rules or in the occasional Ladder, Cage, or Tables match. Also this title would be tailored towards wrestlers with specific styles. Most wrestlers fighting for this belt will be high flyers, brawlers, and/or intense and energetic (Alex Riley) types.

Those along with the tag team titles would be enough for the current roster.

The problem isn't that there are too many or not enough belts. The problem is that WWE needs to figure out how to make people look important outside of the title picture without using belts as crutches.

I really don't see the point in weight limited titles.
"I'm Sheamus and I'm the heavyweight champion there fore I'm the best"
"No, I'm Daniel Bryan and I'm light weight champion, I'm the best"
"No, I'm John Cena and my title says WWE so I'm the best!"

WWE should either have two top tier titles (WWE and WHC), two mid card titles (IC and US) and Tag and Women's titles. OR they should have the WWE title, two specific mid card titles that have restrictions, for example only Americans can compete for the US title only non-Americans for the IC and the Tag and Women's titles.
The only reason there are two top titles at the moment is because of the brand split and now that's done with it would be easy enough to unify them, have Swagger end up with the US title and impose the Americans only rule, have Jericho pick up the IC and impose the non-Americans only rule in retaliation leading to a champion vs. champion feud for Summer Slam. They should stop messing around with the tag division and let proper tag teams compete and they should scrap the Divas and rebuild the Women's division around women who can wrestle, let the barbies be valets and let those who can wrestle wrestle.

I guess you enjoy watching well over half the current WWE locker room be worthless wastes of space. Less titles means less opportunties for the newer guys. Less opportunties means less likely that the fans will ever latch on to them. And people wonder why WWE relies on the old part-timers to draw in the money.

So, you must have missed the part where I stated the removal of the womens title would make way for another mens title, right?

If anyone remember the NWA is the same way and was the the same way..... Back during the World Championship Wrestling Days.. There was the World, US, TV, Western States, National, World Tag, US Tag, National Tag, World 6 Man Tag, and Junior Heavyweight title... Still about the same today with World and North America, National, Junior HW, World Tag, North American Tag, and many regional belts...
The WWE is and was no different, they had many belts that has since been long forgotten.... Like i said keep all the belts for the reason of the depth of the roster (also as mention for equal opportunity among women).. They could rid of one belt but people will complain.... Personally wouldn't mind see ing the WWE add a Light HW or Crusierweight title back...

Case in point: did the acquisition of the tag titles in any way enhance the Hell No storyline? Did it make more people take notice? Of them or the belts? Ask Dean Ambrose, I believe he has one word for that. They treat those belts like fricken handbags or something

Yep. I want the division gone. Make way for the more important stuff and not the fluff. Give the men the pay they deserve and send them little ladies back to domestic duties, where they belong. I mean really, if a tv show is shit, it gets cancelled right? Noone complains about those guys losing their jobs. But noooooo, we can't appear to be disadvantaging women now, can we? That's such bullshit. It's dog eat dog and the bigger stronger dog wins - because they deserve to.
