Not sure how many out there enjoy comics, but I for one am a big fan of the artwork involved in some of these modern literary masterpieces (I'll probably catch some crap for that). This thread is for the simple illustrations of your favorite comic heroes. It's not a debate about who is the best or which is the best story; just pictures of your favorite comic book characters showing their levels of bad-assery in a single image. Here's a few of mine to get the ball rolling...

At the time, back in 1996 Claudio Castellini was responsible for one of my favourite pieces of "arty" comic work with Silver Surfer 'Dangerous Artifacts'

Reading it back, it still holds up today.

That's an awesome image man. I love the mix of real life with the definative Comic style. Anytime I see comic images that seem to come to life, I get goose bumps. I'll be looking for that comic book to read as well.

Mike Mignola's artwork has this wonderful, beautiful yet eerie and dramatic feel to it.

I love it, brilliant writing by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee's artwork is just immense. I brought the Batman: Hush Deluxe Unwrapped edition last year, where its the whole story but it's all the pencil sketches that Jim Lee did before it was inked and coloured.

I love Batman:Year One, I know it is slightly older but, i enjoy the artwork by David Mazzucchelli...
