I can't help but laugh now at all the people who were carrying on like having Hell No win the belts would be the best thing since sliced bread. What it's mostly going to be remembered for is the amusing vignettes and not the so-called "prestige" and "credibility" and "legitimacy" people were maintaining they would bring to the tag belts.
It's all very apparent now that there is nothing Team Hell No did while holding the belts that couldn't have been pulled off without them. And all the while, the belts might have been better served on Rhodes Scholars or even the Prime Time Players. Instead of trying to use wrestlers to bring value to the belts (which could have been done anyway with Rhodes Scholars) they could actually try using the belts to increase the perceived value of a team (like PTP).
But no, as with most good theories
in the wrestling world, this one didn't pan out. The vignettes became a distraction. They were carrying the belts but they could have been carrying kittens for all it mattered. In fact, more people would have paid attention to the kittens.
It's time for Hell No to drop the belts and maybe then, we can get serious about them again.
