Randy Orton, a world class wrestler!

Randy Orton may not have the essential mic skills but he is a good wrestler imo. Here is a young Orton facing Benoit. Thoughts?

Yes i beleive this is true also, hes kinda the complete oppostie of Cena but still they tend to share the 'face of the company' title, which to me is weird.

I think he's alot better than he shows in the ring on a week to week basis. I once heard an interview where he was describing his in ring style and he said he actually tries to be boring in the ring while being a heel, i think he's just sorta stuck in heel mode at the moment (who can blame him hes been heel for 8 years minus like 3 ,onths when he fueded with evolution) but ive noticed hes actually started putting effort into his matches the last couple weeks and added a couple new moves.

I've always thought he had good skills. I agree though the last month or so his matches have been great.

Yeah, that time-period was the peak of Orton's career as far as I'm concerned. Quite unfortunate actually, because at the age of 24-25 he really should have been improving from that point forwards. Not becoming skinny and an increasing bore in-ring. Dunno if it's due to mounting injuries, HGH, (or lack of) or whatever though.

I love Randy Orton....He just keeps me thinking it only gets better. When he challenged the undertaker I was rooting for him to win EVERY match. Even at wrestlemania I wanted him to win against taker. He just has that IT factor and FONZ about him.

I like how Randys evolved. Who knew someone so hated would become the most popular guy in the company?! Randy was a student of the game when he was with Evolution, and made history by becoming the youngest world champion in WWE history.

A couple years later, and hes a 7 time world champion(correct me if I'm wrong)! He plays the role that hes given perfectly, and its awesome to see that hes added the Angle Slam to his arsenal, so we didn't have to get used to the same 5 signature moves his does, like Cena. Thats what seperates Orton and Cena.

I think one key element that makes Orton so good in the ring is his ability to have a great match with anyone on the roster. That alone makes for a great worker. Then you put him in the ring with the likes of a Benoit as posted, there is no ceiling on how high the match quality can go.

I also believe his mic work is stale most times. I wonder had he been around and flourished in the Attitude Era, when guys were encouraged to be themselves with the volume turned up to 10, if Orton would have been more aggressive or energetic on the stick.

His Viper gimmick takes care of that aggressive and energetic nature you want out of him. He sounds more cold and heartless with his monotone mic skills.
