For the fun of it, let's use this thread to predict or speculate what is going to be on the midcards for Wrestlemania 29. Here are my predictions / speculations:
Ryback vs. Mark Henry -- They've been teasing this match with random encounters on RAW and Smackdown. I'd like to see it, just out of sheer curiosity of the story they will tell. Obviously, its going to be a giant vs. giant storyline for Mania. But can they execute it well, or at least better than Goldberg and Brock Lesnar?
The Shield vs. Sheamus, Randy Orton, and Big Show -- It's a bit lame that the Shield is going from Cena, Ryback, and Sheamus. But, then again, where else can they go? At least there is a solid underlining story to this match. The cohesive unit that is the Shield taking on the dysfunctional, implosive team in Show, Sheamus and Orton. So they can tell a good story of, "can these three egos coincide to take down a common enemy?" and if they wanted to they can set up a RANDY ORTON HEEL TURN with this match. I'll be looking forward to this match for that very reason. Orton's heel turn.
Layla vs. Kaitlyn / Layla vs. Kaitlyn vs. Tamina -- This is all we've gotten for the divas. So obviously, this may be our match for Wrestlemania 29. There is an underlining story with Layla bridging the alignment line and possibly turning heel. Also, it gives Kaitlyn two obstacles to overcome, especially since Tamina has been giving her trouble. So, whether its a singles match or triple threat match, this should be a nice filler match.
Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz / Dolph Ziggler vs. Chris Jericho / Ziggler vs. Swagger vs. Del Rio / World Heavyweight Champ -- Now, going off the assumption that Ziggler cashes in and WINS the title at Mania, this opens the door for numerous possibilities. For first, Ziggler NEEDS a match at Mania. And these three are the only ones I can see him believably competing in. Now, my scenario works like this: If Ziggler cashes in and wins against Del Rio or Swagger, he would later go on to defend the belt in his match against Miz or Jericho. That's THREE world title defense on Mania (Del Rio vs Swagger, Cash in, and Ziggler vs Miz/Jericho) which has never been done before. It'd be an awesome thing to see, especially if Ziggler successfully defends in his match later on. What a way to make a name for yourself!
Nostalgia Tag Team Match. New Age Outlaws vs. Daniel Bryan and Kane -- Simply for nostalgia purposes, I see this match happening. I think WWE might save Bryan vs. Kane for Extreme Rules and just have the break up AT Mania. Of course, this would mean NAO would win the titles, which is fine by me, as long as they lose it at the next PPV. If you don't like this, then maybe ...
Tag Team Gauntlet Match: Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara vs. NAO vs. Hell No vs. Rhodes Scholars vs. Prime Time Players -- I'd love to have this match. It's a stretch, but it'd be awesome if WWE does it.
3MB concert -- Just for laughs! 3MB has teased debuting a single for months. Why not just do it at Mania? Yes, it'll be terrible, but that's the point. It's a joke, but a funny joke. You expect it to suck. So when it does, you'll get a laugh out of it. I mean, would you rather have a lame musical number by Cee Lo, or have a comedy act.
I really don't have anything for Antonio Cesaro or Wade Barrett, so I just gave them random opponents.
Antonio Cesaro vs. The Miz -- Rematch. Miz wins. Yawn.
Antonio Cesaro vs. Christian -- This is one I prefer the most. This whole idea of "no american can beat me" can easily set this match up. A great way to bring Christian back.
Wade Barrett vs. Kofi Kingston. -- Rematch. Kofi jobs. Yawn.
Wade Barrett vs. Zack Ryder. -- This is more preferable, although Ryder would lose. Still, it gets him on the card and fans will definitely be behind him.
Wade Barrett vs. Evan Bourne -- THIS is the match I really want! Bourne's return match at Mania. Yes, he'd most likely lose, but think of the spectacular moves he do in the match.
Wade Barrett vs. Bo Dallas -- Sorry, but Dallas isn't ready for this spot, at the very least a spot on the main roster. But, WWE might just do this match anyways. It's been teased. Then again -- so was Sheamus vs. Barrett. So who knows.
