WWE Studios is finally coming to an end

Well folks, the box office results are in for "Dead Man Down". It bombed.

As Ryan Clark reported a few weeks ago, 2013 is supposed to be the make-or-break year for WWE's film division, with Dead Man Down and The Call being the two big money-makers that save the day. Dead Man Down probably won't even break even, and The Call, which comes out next week, might as well be a lost cause.

If these movies fail, then WWE plans on looking for an exit strategy from the movie business. Seeing as they are, I guess 2014 is the final year for WWE Studios.

In my opinion, it's about time WWE woke up and realized nobody sees them as the next 20th Century Fox or Paramount. Just like the WBF, the XFL, Linda's Senate Campaign, and the Network, this is just another failed Vince McMahon side-project that he's blown countless millions on. Hopefully he's finally learned his lesson and sticks to the only thing he'll ever succeed at - sports-entertainment.

If I had to choose between the WWE Network and WWE Studios, I would keep WWE Studios and scrap the plans for the network.

The movies were never going to be big Hollywood blockbusters. They're just independent films with corporate backing. Plus acting in these films helps the wrestlers work on their talking ability, which is needed for the wrestling product.

If I had to choose between the WWE Network and WWE Studios, I would keep WWE Studios and scrap the plans for the network.

The movies were never going to be big Hollywood blockbusters. They're just independent films with corporate backing. Plus acting in these films helps the wrestlers work on their talking ability, which is needed for the wrestling product.

I watch movies rarely, and there's nothing that WWE Studios can put out that'll get me to watch. Do people only watch movies because of who's in them? I'm curious to know why movies have been so awful at the box office for what seems like months now until this week with Oz opening at $80 mil. Are people only into superheroes(which is so played out it's unbelievable) and high fantasy now?

I have watched a lot of movies and I still wouldn't endorse these movies that WWE makes. They are pretty much shit on the whole and I'm not adverse to bad movies. I love them. But I just find it hard to watch and laugh and get carried away with these guys that I know mostly from this one thing. Look at The Miz. As if.

I blame living in such a reality-based world as the reason why fantasy and comic book films do the best in theaters.

People want to escape the media constantly telling them what's going on every second in the real world. So go to the theater and escape into something that dosen't exist. Like a temporary dream.

The real reason movies haven't been making much money lately is because this is a dumping period. Studios never release blockbusters or movies they expect to make a lot during this time of year. January until the beginning of summer (with a few bigger moves in March) and September through November are intentionally low release periods for movies.

Of course, no WWE Studios release would make money regardless of the time of year it's released.
