Why The Miz is the next Intercontinental Champion

Sad, but true. I just know that if they had less titles, more superstars would be floundering around doing nothing and the WWE would still have no idea what to do with the titles

I think that there should only be one top title for the top guys to fight over, the IC Title should be the #2 belt for guys like Miz who WWE treats as important, but shouldn't be WWE Champion yet/again (or guys like Randy Orton who are getting depushed), and then there should be another belt for the low tier midcarders who won't get a big push any time soon, like Zack Ryder to fight over.

And WWE should learn how to make stars look important without belts.

"The mid-card title picture is dead! Management isn't giving guys enough opportunities!"
"Unify the IC and US Championships ASAP! There's no point in having two useless titles!"

I never said anything about unifying the midcard belts. I was only talking about the World Titles. But I DO believe that the U.S. Title should be retired and replaced either with the European Title, a gimmick belt like the Hardcore/Cruiserweight belt, or creating a new title. I don't like how the U.S. title is treated as lower than the IC Title simply because it came from WCW, so I'd rather it be laid to rest than have its lineage diluted by passing it around to low level guys.

It should be

WWE Title
Intercontinental Title
Lower midcard belt

The IC Title should be on guys like Miz, or Wade Barrett who while not quite megastars, are presented as big deals at all times. Like I said, casual fans still think of guys like Miz and Barrett as "main eventers", so they'll make the IC belt look important. That way the next guy who DOES get a push and wins the belt, will look like a bigger deal winning it because they beat a top guy for the belt. Beating Miz or Wade Barrett for the IC Title is a much bigger rub than beating Kofi Kingston or Cody Rhodes for it.

I don't see the Miz winning the Intercontinental Championship from Wade Barrett. I think the WWE wants to push Barrett and give him that rub by letting him get his first big Mania win against a former World Champ.

I agree with this and I'm a big fan of The Miz. Personally would love to see Wade win MITB this year and become the World Champ later in the year. He's got the total package to be a really good World Champ.

I would like to see Miz become relevant again in the main event scene, hopefully it happens.

I think that they need to either push Miz all the way to the WWE Championship again, or use what notoriety he has to give the midcard/tag divisions a rub. Don't give him the charity belt.
