I really like Martyrs, too, but again I think you'd be mistaken to assume that it's going to be for everybody. Just going by conversations I've had about the film on other boards, I can already tell you that it's incredibly divisive.

I wonder what criticism they had of it, maybe a little too porny...

Well, it is pitch black and relentlessly nasty in a way that most modern horror films aren't. And then you have a bunch of alienating philosophical and religious components layered on top. You can kind of see where that sort of concoction might not be up the alley of the average meat-n-potatoes kind of film enthusiast, yeah?

Can I ask here, for all you Batman fans - how many here have read the Knightfall series that introduced Bane or more preferably, read the novel version?

Also, is there any interest here in starting a Batman thread where we can discuss the new movie, with spoilers of course (clearly marked)?

Yeah you make sense, the philosophical religious part made me like the film even more.

cyborg - Late 80s Van Damme movie that originally was to be masters of the universe 2.

I have no idea how this could anyway be linked to masters of the universe,twas a terrible terrible movie where in the
1st half all people seemed to do is sharpen there knifes.
The 2nd part involved everyone shouting aaaarrrrrr alot.Was hoping it was going to fall into so bad its good territory
but alas it is one to avoid.

Akbar i will stand up.I thought Watchmen was a great movie and had one of the best title sequences i have seen(Times are a changin) I would give it 8.97.not quite as good as a 9 film but good enough for me.
