Watched Contraband last night starring Mark Wahlberg, Ben Foster, Giovanni Ribisi, and J.K. Simmons. I actually enjoyed this movie and of the actors I listed, I enjoyed their performance. I'm a big fan of Giovanni Ribisi and J.K. Simmons

I like Ribisi too, but I feel he only really has one or two characters in his arsenal. Ben Foster is pretty high on my list of actors.

I'm a Ribisi fan myself from what I've seen. I thought he was pretty good in Boiler Room & even Perfect Stranger.

Saw Django Unchained last night. I can see why it's got the critical acclaim that it's got. It's definitely up there with Tarantino's best work and is arguably the best piece of work he's done to date.

From what I know, Will Smith was Tarantino's first choice for the lead role, but I think Jamie Foxx did a fine job.
Christope Waltz was, needless to say, brilliant yet again (I hope to see more Tarantino-Waltz collaborations in future).
Leonardo Di Caprio was also great IMO. Played a very good villain.
Samuel L. Jackson was another highlight for me. Played his role fantastic.

All in all, anther masterpiece from Tarantino, and I can't wait to see what he'll turn his attention to next.
After saying that he'd do a 3rd installment, he's since ruled a 3rd Kill Bill to be "unlikely" (which is wise IMO), but he has laid out an idea he has for his next film. I guess we'll have to wait at least 2 years before we see it though.

Watched Layer Cake today. Solid effort, nice twists, good performances. I have to be honest and admit I think it's the first Daniel Craig movie I have ever watched. In the style of other Matthew Vaughn related movies.

    Hence the "at least" lol!
I don't mind waiting that long for his movies though. Shows that he's more concerned about thinking things through, getting the cast that HE wants, and perfecting the movie, unlike other directors that are more concerned about making multiple mediocre films in as small a period of time as possible.

I watched Jeff, Who Lives at Home last night. Kind of an offbeat movie but I enjoyed it.

I really liked that flick. It was cool to see Rae Dawn Chong again after all these years. Plus Jason Segal is almost always watchable and I've always loved Susan Sarandon
