I was thinking that Casino Royale was about as good as a Bond movie could get, but Skyfall proved me wrong, rather handily. Just absolutely superlative filmmaking. Sam Mendes was as big of a boon for the franchise as Daniel Craig's casting as Bond. Not only did this make for the best Bond in the history of the franchise, but Skyfall was just flat-out one of the best movies of the year. I'm not even joking. A master class in thinking man's slam-bang, for sure.
Between stuff like this, The Avengers, and The Dark Knight Rises, 2012 may very well be the best year for blockbusters in the history of film.
I agree with this, 2012 had something for everyone.
Zero Dark Thirty, Argo, Spider-man, Avengers, DKR, Looper,The Invisible War, Brave, ParaNorman, Frankenweenie, Les Mis, Moonrise Kingdom, Amour, Skyfall, Silver Linings Playbook, Lincoln, Django, etc.
I doubt 2013 will come close.
