Yeah, daring and/or provocative subject matter is not the same thing as depth, so that's where you lost me. I can understand what you were trying to get at now, though.

Yeah. I think the word 'deep' can be expanded to many different view points. I didn't exactly mean depth when I said deep, even though that would be the literal example of the word.

I meant, more of a hippie sort of deep.

Well, hippies using the word deep still means that they're attributing depth to something, whether it be on an emotional or philosophical level. And I'm simply challenging the assertion that 8mm offers anything of the sort. It might deal with some challenging subject matter, but there's no profundity to be found. Moral issues are presented, but any sort of valuable insight is conspicuously absent.

Paranormal Activity 2, First time I've watched this, I have no idea why people think this is a scary film?! Much worse than the first film and that wasn't very good either!

No they weren't particularly scary, side from a few jump scares, but those don't really count. However cheesy and overhyped those films are, I do enjoy them. Call it a guilty pleasure I suppose!
