Well it's not coincidence that those films whether it was a strategic release, are still just great films anyways right? Yeah great films come out earlier in the year too but as a collective when you compare it, the better films of a year usually come out near the end.

No, I wouldn't characterize a good chunk of the stuff that gets nominated as being great, like, at all. Most of it is usually Oscar-bait-ish drivel.

Yeah the typical Oscar-bait films never come of that well to me either (War Horse, King's speech and even recent David Fincher film's) but there's usually also really amazing films which can be seen as typical Oscar films but still are just plain great films (No country for old men, Drive) to counter that.

Yes I'm very aware that Drive was robbed of Oscar nominations, but my point was the time it came out.

All that means is that occasionally a good movie comes out in September. Just like how occasionally good movies come out during all of the other months.

I'm just saying, if I was to compile a list of top 10 films of each year, most those films would probably be from later end of the year.

Watched 'The Punisher' last night. IMO that's the best Punisher movie out of the 3 that's been made, thought that's not saying much. Jane played a good Frank Castle I thought, and Trovolta was a decent villain, playing Howard Saint.

I really didn't think that Ray Stevens was a good fit to play Castle in the movie they made in 2008.

I did learn however that this new Punisher short was released on youtube just a couple of months back, with Thomas Jane reprising his role as Castle. It's pretty bad-ass for a fan made short!



I hope Marvel sees this and picks up on it. I'd love to see them finally making a good Punisher movie with Jane in the lead role again.
