I'm a little disappointed Matthew Vaughn didn't return to direct, but I'm liking what I see, though I don't think it will live up to the first one though. Jim Carrey should be brilliant.

I just finished watching Road to Perdition. It was pretty simple but I really enjoyed it. Nice ending too.

Some of the best movies are simple. It had some very solid and even impressive performances that get it across the line. Nice tone too.

After a year of sitting on my shelf I finally watched District 9.

Didn't get interesting until the second half.

Few films I've caught up on recently:

The Hobbit - The first hour is a real chore, watching it on a lazy Sunday afternoon I nearly nodded off twice. It does pick up somewhat for the last hour and a half but it's a bit of a let down in comparison to the Rings Trilogy. 2/5

Zero Dark Thirty - Really good film, much more than I was expecting. Although Bigelow does like to push the boundaries of 'factual details' (as do most Hollywood movies based on real events) it still doesn't take away from the movie overall. One of the few films I've watched recently that will be receiving a repeat viewing from me. 3.5/5

Skyfall - Excellent film and one of the best Bond films I've seen, certainly since the Connery era. Craig has certainly grown into the role since Royale and is, for me, the first to hit par with Connery as the best Bond. I also enjoyed the moving back toward the original films somewhat, with the introduction of Q and Moneypenny. I'm so glad they decided to put Moneypenny in her familiar role at the end of the film. 4/5

I just finished up The Godfather Part II. While I did miss Marlon Brando, overall I enjoyed this one a little more.

I watched The Godfather Part III today. I've heard a lot of bad about this movie but I really enjoyed it. I still think Part II is the best but this movie is no slouch. Of course, I may be biased because I'm a huge Pacino fan.

I agree i felt the same about Part 2 i liked it more than the first one even without Brando. Part 3 is a really good movie but everyone had too high expectations for it
