    Dark Shadows


    Tim Burton is probably one of the best choices to direct. He's always good at making Dark, Gothic films and everyone's expecting it to be something like Sweeney Todd and Sleepy Hollow. Instead, it has a hybrid of Corpse Bride and Beetlejuice. It begins with decent gloominess but the rest is scattered with groovy soundtrack and colorful images. But that may not be the problem. It's actually pretty good at recapturing the 70's. The main problem is the plot development. It's fun but also disappointing.

    So went to a movie last night. went to the midnight showing of The Avengers. FREAKING AMAZING MOVIE! Hands down. Had moments of action, comedy, drama..everything all wrapped into one. A great great GREAT movie. Plus before it started there was a new preview for The Dark Knight Rises..which is the next midnight showing I'll be going to. Might even treck 3 hrs down to Pittsburgh to see it specifically in IMAX.

    Watched Tombstone for the millionth time today since it's my all-time favorite. Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday....nuff said.

    Also watched Dog Day Afternoon for the first time. Brilliant IMO. Every time I watch a Pacino movie it makes me wanna act.
