Chono's all but retired unfortunately.... He made a few appearances last year but only had a few matches. Togi Makabe Vs Alvin Burke? Now that a possibility!

I honestly would've thought MVP was at more of a Jr. Heavyweight level, but apparently not. The Naomichi Marufuji and Low Ki possibilties would've been boner-inducing to me ;_;

I know he employs a Puro style, but I've never really seen him as someone I'd like to see in Japan. Then again, I thought the same about A-Train!
They must have plans for him if they signed him to a year's deal. Good for him!
Wonder if they'll let him wear his jumpsuit, that he wore to cover his Malcom X tattoo?
Also, here's hoping he leaves the Playmaker at home.... Can't see him doing the drive by either as it was Chono's move, but, you never know!

I hope he doesn't wear the silly scuba suit. He looked way more intimidating back in his FIP/ROH days... like someone who could actually be taken seriously.

(I was never a huge MVP mark)

Antonio Banks was the shit! He went move for move in his match with Homicide in FIP, which, for me, proves when fully motivated he can be a contender. His WWE past will help him a lot in NJPW, as they take a wrestlers history seriously. Plus WWE is covered in Japans weekly wrestling magazine, which has the odd name of Baseball Magazine.
As for him as a junior heavyweight, if he could trim down a bit I could see it, but I'm sure he'll mix it up with both weights. Especially with the amount of six man tag team matches that happen in New Japan, they happen there all the time!

Lame. Always wanted to see Chono vs MVP. You can really see the influence Chono had on MVP
