In the immortal words of TJHawkseybaby.... BUMPAGE!!!
Back when ECW was pushing Taz's shoot fighter gimmick, Paul Heyman began looking for legitimate fighters who would be willing to come to The Arena to do the job for the "man with the body of a baby gorilla". A couple that I'm aware of/can remember right now, were Leon Spinks and Paul Varlans.
Former boxing heavyweight Leon Spinks was brought to the arena, but when he arrived he was obviously high, and he began acting really weird. Taz, who was probably fearing for his safety, instantly refused to get in the ring with him after witnessing his behaviour.
Paul Varlans is a former UFC fighter and is a legit six foot eight! Taz was more than happy to do business with Paul and knew "beating" him would make his gimmick that much more "real". Varlans, however, took one look at the five foot six Taz and refused to put the mighty midget over! His reasoning was "how could I lose to a guy that comes up to my dick"!!!
Enter Missy Hyatt:
Missy persuaded Paul to do the job for Taz by promising him sex once the match was finished.
The match was about three and a half minutes long and it was awful. There was also the possibility that Varlans would try to shoot on Taz, so, as a precautionary measure Heyman had half the ECW locker room surrounding the ring. Had Varlans of tried anything he'd have been left in no condition to perform with Missy.... Not that he got to shag her, as she completely blew him out after the show. Sucker!!!
Hulk Hogan, Stan Hansen, Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Vader, Antonio Inoki, Masahiro Chono, Keji Muto and Jumbo Tsruta have all won major world heavyweight titles in America (WWF/E, WCW, NWA, AWA) and Japan (AJPW's triple crown and NJPW's IWGP Heavyweight title).
Gunner has been wrestling for nine years and served in Iraq.
Murphy's real name is Michael Cole!
After he left WWE Rico wrestled on a few tours for AJPW. That is until they underpaid him by two grand and he quit. In fact he was so disgusted that he quit wrestling completely.
After years of Bitterness towards the company, Bret Hart finally gave in and began working with WWE on the Bret Hart anthology they released about five years ago. Why he eventually gave in had a lot to do with the fact that Vince had planned to release a DVD called "Screwed". It was to be a burial of Bret on the same level as The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior, and Vince, Michaels, Hogan and others had already recorded interviews tearing strips off of the Hitman. Bret has seen the footage of them and has stated that some of their comments were extremely hurtful. Not wanting his legacy tarnished any further, he decided to do the DVD.
Scott Hall used to wrestle as Starship Coyote, His partner Dan Spivey was known as Starship Eagle. Collectively they were known as American Starship. Lol.
The average WWE dvelopmental contract is worth around five or six hundred dollars a week.
Brock Lesnar was paid considerably more than that while learning his craft in OVW.
The fact that Pat Patterson was the first intercontinental champion is well known, what isn't quite as well known is that he won it in a fictitious tournament supposedly held in Rio De Janeiro... What most people don't get is that the location of the tournament was a rib on Pat's sexuality, as Rio De Janeiro is well known for it's, um, "colourful" lifestyle.
