Natalya vs. Melina ~ Show-stealer of RAW 1/24/11

There weren't that many good matches on RAW last night. Surprisingly, the main highlights of the show involved the divas. That being the Daniel Bryan and Gail Kim segment and the match of the night .... which surprisingly was the Natalya vs Melina match. Yeah I said it. A divas match stole the show.

Now, of course, I'm not going to get on here and say this without backing up my point. Although this match was short (about 2-3 minutes long) it not only had some good back and forth action between Natalya and Melina, but it had THE MOMENT of the night. That sharpshooter Natalya put on Melina looked SICK! She literally bent her like a fucking pretzel and it looked painful, although I'm sure it did not hurt Melina as bad as it looked.

Very good selling from Melina and great execution by Natalya. So overall, the flow of the match and the ending just wins it for me when it comes to Match of the Night. Perhaps even an early candidate for moment of the year. Who knows?

I agree. Laycool has been jobbing for weeks now and they come out of nowhere and get a shot at the title? Yes, they have a rematch clause, but I'd rather have seen this match up than LayCool vs Natalya again. It would have made more sense.

that finish of that match was one of the best finishes iv'e seen in a long time especially for a diva's match.

soon as i saw the divas, i yelled piss break! got back in time to see the ending though that was sick.

Ughh, i dont get why people do that, the Divas matches are good, better than the male matches at a lot of times. PISS DURING A COMMERICAL

Actually, the ending was stolen from a Mr. Perfect vs. Bret Hart match from Summerslam '91. It was their most famous match where Mr. Perfect did a series of leg drops to Bret Hart, and on the third try, Bret grabbed his leg and turned it into a Sharpshooter. I think the ending was supposed to reference that moment. I can't believe more people didn't catch that.

I was talking about the way melina's back bent while in the sharpshooter and now that you mention that match I do rember it and it was a great match but M.r Perfect's back didn't bend like melina's did last night.
