I was just reading the thread on CM Punk's Heel Turn on the 1000th episode of RAW, and I thought to myself: If Rock's going to be at SummerSlam, Royal Rumble 2013, and Wrestlemania 29, and if he faces John Cena, can this be Cena's chance to turn heel?
If The Rock and Cena face each other, and Rock stays baby face, do you think Cena could turn heel?
Of course this is only CM Punk does not face the Rock (Assuming he might after what he did to Rock that turned him heel).
I personally think this could be Cena's chance to run free and wild as a heel, only because The Rock is a big enough star to carry the WWE as a face (merchandise, sales, tickets, etc.) through these PPVs.

Since WWE has made Punk heel, it's unlikely that they will make Cena heel. Cena as face works great for WWE, he gets a mix of boo's and cheers. That's the perfect selling point. People pay to see him lose because they can't stand him, and the other half pay to see him win. Works out great for the WWE.

Couple things to point out. Rock is a part time wrestler, he may not even make WM due to his new movie. Rock won't be coming back to the WWE to be a full time wrestler and carry the WWE. That's the entire angle of why Punk does not like the Rock.

I just have one wish....enough with the Cena turning heel threads....if it happens, big deal, not like we are already seeing it comming when it does cause everyone's just waiting for it to happen.

It's my belief that they moved Punk to a heel so that you could have a heel facing The Rock. They toyed with it last year but the overall audience, not the IWC, are too big of a fan of the guy to turn him heel. The fact that The Rock and Punk were on that huge of a stage (Raw 1,000) when they made the comment about wrestling at the RR, I just don't see Punk not being the opponent at that time. I think that Cena is probably most comfortable being a face and so they keep him that way.

Yeah, I agree with what you are telling me. I just wanted to post a "What If" scenario, and I still do believe that if somehow Punk weren't facing Rock and it was Cena to face Rock, that it could be a chance for Cena to turn heel.

Personally, i feel if they do have Cena face Rock at Rumble for the title, they seem to have it planned that the champion lose, so even though i know it wont happen, you could always have Cena turn heel before Rumble to face The Rock, OR if he does in fact lose the title at the Rumble, have Cena trn heel out of frustration that he again lost to The Rock, but we shall see what will happen in the coming year

I'm going off of pure history and wrestling goes in cycles.

Cena is this generations Hulk Hogan. I was a little kid and was a big Hulk mark just like these cenation kids.

There comes a time when these kids will grow out of worshiping Cena cause its childish and they are rebellious teenagers.

At that time, Cena will turn to draw them back in. It's just like when Hulk turned Hollywood when I was a teen/young adult and I was back on board.

It won't happen any sooner imo. Economics 101.
