So we've all experienced it. Doesn't matter if it's because of religious beliefs or due to where you're located in the world, we have all been stereotyped at some point in our lives. Some are brutal, some are justifiable, but the ones I am looking to get out of this thread are the ones that made you just shake your head and say "really" in your best Miz imitation. I'll give you a few examples of the ones I have faced (on multiple occasions) and hopefully you guys will follow the logic.
Being from Texas, I typically get pigeonholed in the "Redneck" category... I find it funny because when I was around 12 years old, we hosted a couple of softball teams for a national tournament being held in my hometown. One of the teams was from Queens, NY and the first question my family was asked is "where are all the horses?" These girls literally thought we all rode horses equipped with wagons to every location we went to. I found it hilarious.
Other typical stereotypes I have been labeled as thanks to the wonderful world of the web:
A person who sleeps with family members (Inbred)
A person who has sex with cows
A person who thinks all other states/countries are the shits compared to Texas
A person who carries a gun with me at all time... Okay, that's "somewhat" true because I have one in my car at all times.
A person who drives a pickup truck
A person who never graduated High School
A person who wears 10 gallon hats
A person who is racist because I live in the South
A person who has a belt buckle bigger than most rappers chains
A person who has only 5 teeth
So we can see that stereotypes can be a negative thing, but at the same time, they can also be pretty funny and ridiculous at times. What are some common stereotypes that you guys have faced since joining an internet community?
