The new one is a better film, Garfield is a better Peter Parker but The first Spiderman was better in terms of impact, brought Superhero films back into mainstream I thought.

I find Garfield to be a both better Spider-Man/Peter Parker than Tobey. The major problem I had with the new film was the lack of motivation behind what some of the characters did.
