What's your view on the current state of Liverpool?

Fair play, I think he'll do well if given money and time, not got a great squad to work with.

If the papers are to be believed, he'll get £20-25million to spend over the summer. Not the biggest war chest these days (sadly), but it's a start. Lambert needs to use it wisely, as it's reported that he want 4 or 5 players with that money.

One thing for certain is that, barring an absolute calamity, he will be given time to build his squad. The squad that's there now isn't great, but it is better than what was being played last season. It's the negative impact of poor man-management, constant coaching changes as well as losing our captain to Leukaemia.

Would BR be afforded time? From an outsiders point of view, the Liverpool job seems toxic at the moment. If you compare it to Villa, most of the supporters have little expectations at the moment and are happy to wait, so long as it looks like we're trying to get there. Liverpool seems to expect CL football as a minimum requirement. It's kinda reminiscent of the Newcastle job a few seasons ago, pre-relegation.
