For me.. Ajex have a better youth system then Arsenal for sure, Better then anyone in prem perhaps also, Yes Arsenal have some good young players but apart from Wilshire, none of them were actually there youngsters, United and Liverpool have always brought through the best young british players in the prem and still do IMO.

I agree with that man.. You can have the best youth system in the world, if you don't have the finances in place too keep hold of those players and build a team with them instead of selling them then you ain't going anywhere.

Exactly, Ajax are what you'd call a 'selling club' at this point in time, same as Benfica for example. They develop excellent young players via their youth systems, but once they become of age and catch the eye of the big clubs who come in offering big money, they sell them.

There was a program on tv about this very subject actually a while back (on BBC 2 or 3 I think it was), talking about clubs with good youth systems not able to hold onto their home grown developed young talent because of the lack of money, and how they simply have to sell when big money is offered for the good players. The club that the program centered on; Ajax.
