That's what I thought. Same with Rafael as well, I'd like to see more defending from him, but he's good enough.

I still don't know how Gomes didn't manage to succeed at Spurs, he's their 4th goalie now isn't he? He was an absolutely beast when he played for PSV

Yeah 4th choice. He was great for PSV, but yeah, he was just way too inconsistent at Spurs. He had one or 2 excellent games followed by a few really bad ones.
He should move back to Brazil I reckon.

The position of full back has changed. There's a lot more emphasis on the attacking side of the position than the defensive side these days. Hence why guys like Alves, Marcelo, Coentrao, Ivanovic, Rafael, Evra, Cole, Lahm etc are considered the best in that position.
