Obertan never had a chance to prove himself at United.
Since joining Newcastle however he's had games, so I can finally form an opinion on him. I find he's in the same category as Nani. He's got talent, but he's very inconsistent. For every good game he has there's 5+ games where he's virtually invisible or ineffective.

It would help if every ball that's played to him wasn't overhit!
But I agree, he's not playing great overall, he's not having the same effect he has on a game when he's at right back. On that subject, Smalling isn't having a great game either in an attacking sense.
We need RVP on the pitch ASAP. I'd take Smalling off and put RVP on, move Rafael to right back.
