Bottom line is, Ronaldo and Bale are essentially the same player; wingers who can also play up front. I reckon we'll see Bale, Ronaldo on the flanks with Benzema in the middle, Isco behind him, and Modric/Ozil/Khadeira/Alonso (if those guys stay) rotating in the centre. Kaka will either leave or settle for playing backup for another season, Di-Maria will have to settle for being backup for Bale/Ronaldo.
I'd rather see Bale go to United (obviously), but if we're talking £85m, and Bale wants to go there, then we're out of it. No questions about that.
I do think that he should leave Spurs though, since he should be playing CL football. But I don't think he's worth £85m. As I said previously, I think he's currently worth about £50m - £60m (give or take £5m). If he carries on producing the form he showed during the second half of last season then we can talk about these massive sums that puts him in the same category as Messi or Ronaldo.
