Haha, I don't mind some Fooeys but a little certainly goes a long way with me. I find it funny that Dave Grohl has a go at Nickelback when for me they are very similar in that they write a lot of catchy pop rock songs that tend to blend into one another. Kings Of Leon is (or was) another. There's a lot that fall into that category

they are both considered post-grunge but I don't agree that they produce similar music. foo fighters tend to not have songs about having sex, singing rock and roll, and they don't have songs that or obvious pandering to people. while all my life is a very dirty song about doing things with a girl, most of my friends didn't know that until I told them so I assume most of the general populous doesn't know that as well. whereas songs like rockstar are obvious lets do drugs and party songs.

I have never taken the time to dissect Foo Fighters lyrically, so I accept what you're saying. But to a layman they are all too similar. It's like people who aren't very discerning will just say all rap is the same, all pop is the same - whatever. But the fact that they have never stood out lyrically to me means - at least for me - that they're not on a level of say, Pink Floyd or The Doors.
