That's the problem DRG - nobody is interested in watching chess being played. I appreciate boxing but I forsee the sport dying in the next 50 years. Sure, there will still be boxing - but more in the way that there is still badminton.
I can agree with you that I see it dwindling out - Never really "gone" as much as just forgotten.

Yet another thing the Americans can be blamed for! Honestly, I agree that it began to die when the WHC went to shit, but I don't think America is the cause; it's MMA. With the idea that there were options outside of joining the boxing circuit, the people who "could" have been going to boxing classes due to their abilities to throw punches, ended up taking MMA and learned the ground base to match their hand speed. That's just my theory though.
