I hope you're not suggesting that a female should get or be pregnant continuously throughout their life. There has to be a 'period' (get it?) of rest for the female, even if the body is obligated to run it's gooey cycle. You can thank your god for that if you god-botherers like. Otherwise, for the rest of you, thank evolution.
In the case of the chicken, it's a somewhat cleaner process since they lay an egg either way. Maybe someone should tell the human females they might want to look into this far more hygienic approach.

On a similar topic, people often seem Ok with the fact that they're eating meat from an animal, but if you really think about it we're eating their muscles. And in the case of pies, sausages and other accumulated 'mystery' meat products, hooves, ears, anus, eyes, veins and arteries. Among other things.
