The Sting thing was an agreement made with Borden to use his character and likeness in the tapes WWE acquired. He had creative rights to his character (thanks to Eric Bischoff and Teddy Turner) so he collect royalties. It was why WWE pushed so hard to get him; to sign rights to his character over to the company.

Then why not, if you're already giving Vince the right to the Sting "brand", go work for him?
