I think the argument was that people who are trying to make a living off of Youtube are losing viewers/subscribers due to the overall bitterness of the new site design. Sure you can navigate around it easily but the recommendations you get are often shitty. I could be watching a one off video about puppies, but then I will get recommendations about it for weeks no matter what video I watch.
Back in 2006 when I made my first Youtube account everything was very easy to navigate. I knew where everything was when I needed it and then as soon as Google made their purchased I noticed minor changes over time, but it was never anything too severe. Fast forward up until' late 2010, 2011, 2012, and now 2013 it has become slightly more advanced and very ugly. I used to be able to watch videos and do other crazy shit without worrying about my browser crashing. This seems to happen ALL the time now on the new Youtube. People can try to justify it all they want, but I agree with everyone else when they call it a piece of shit.
