Another guest viewing a printable version of "the wank bank" thread... I wonder what he's going to use that for...

I have been impressed with the show; much better than I expected. Finished the first 3 seasons and when I go back on days off I will start the 4th thanks to nbc.com having them archived on their website (watched the first 3 seasons on Netflix).

Those story lines that we hate so much tend to be entertaining... dang vince giving me what I don't want to admit that I want!!!
Sure there are entertaining storylines, but it all comes down to your personality. I can live with shitty storylines so long as the in ring is worth watching. Others could care less about the in ring so long as the stories are top notch. I got into wrestling because of the physical athleticism and how impressive it is to watch these guys willingly do things that are pretty painful and take quite a bit of agility and stamina to pull off in a 15+ min match. That's why I am more prone to criticizing the WWE as their in ring seems mighty "tame" for the big leagues. When you have some majorly talented people on the roster it seems "off" to me to have them so limited in their move sets. Sure I understand it is to prevent potential injuries, but it just takes away from the show (for me) when I know that these guys could put on a much more entertaining match if they had a little room to structure the match themselves. It's why I like watching Indy matches so much; sure there are some botched spots, but you can see the guys going all out.

I view WWE as the NFL in that the "superstars" are there for their career and get paid regardless of how little or much effort they put into a match. TNA is closer to college football in that there are some core guys who have their spot locked, but the newer, younger ones still have to compete for their position before they are replaces.

Why do you call yourself "guest", Denny? Is that a new nickname?

So it's official; I will be taking my kids to their first live wrestling experience. Sure, it might not be WWE or TNA (which my kids actually like better than WWE, but I am sure that is due to my enthusiasm for the product) but they will be against the guard rails and get a chance to experience how a live wrestling event will be. Here in my region of Texas we have a relatively new Indy promotion called OSW (Old School Wrestling). They had an event last year in which Bret Hart attended along with Billy Gunn, Mickie James, plus a few others and this year they are doing the same with the likes of Diamond Dallas Page, The World's Greatest Tag Team, Al Snow, Raven, and Eugene. I am excited and my oldest daughter has yet to stop asking when we're going to wrestling since I told her about it 2 weeks ago. Should be interesting.

I'm looking forward to it. After BFG, my wife is interested to see another Al Snow match and she has seen some YouTube matches of WGTT but she knows fuck-all about Eugene, Raven, and even DDP so her excitement is limited at this point. But since she has enjoyed all the wrestling events we've been to so far, she should get a kick out of it; even if it's just for watching the look on my sons face when someone jumps off the top rope. I have been able to lower he expectations a bit by showing her a typical Indy event or two (River City Wrestling and Anarchy Championship Wrestling shows on the net) so she knows what we're in for, but I know my 4 year olds and 2 year old will be wondering where Bobby Roode, AJ Styles, Austin Aries, John Cena, and Kurt Angle are the whole night.

Thought I'd contribute by sharing some very inspirational words from my girl Tay Tay.

She's Cheer Captain and I'm on the bleachers'
