Yeah, Gareth Edwards should do a more than fine job with Godzilla, especially with what he was able to accomplish with Monsters' micro-budget. Now, Monsters wasn't a great movie or anything, but it definitely serves as a nice sort of demo reel for someone interested in being tasked with this sort of project.

That's what I've been thinking. Especially as a full feature debut. I've been wanting to see that film.

Haven't they sort of put all of their Mexican-star eggs into the Del Rio basket, though? That would be really left-field, especially after getting completely squashed within the past couple of weeks.

True about ADR.

That's what I'm thinking, all those squashes were put in there to deter you completely from thinking that it could happen. It probs won't though.

I caught it on Netflix's Instant Watch a couple of months ago. I didn't like it as much as, say, Cloverfield, but I appreciated everything they were able to accomplish given the constraints of the production.

And while not quite on the level of a Neill Blomkamp, I definitely think Edwards is still a directing talent to watch.
