I have never taken the time to dissect Foo Fighters lyrically, so I accept what you're saying. But to a layman they are all too similar. It's like people who aren't very discerning will just say all rap is the same, all pop is the same - whatever. But the fact that they have never stood out lyrically to me means - at least for me - that they're not on a level of say, Pink Floyd or The Doors.

I'm not saying they are lyrically at the level of pink floyd... but they are closer to their level than to nickelbacks level IMO. though I will agree they are more similar to nickelback because they write pop-like rock but that's the entire idea behind the grunge movement (especially nirvana kurt cobain said smells like teen spirit is his ultimate pop song) and beings that both bands are post grunge they are going to have that similarity

Trust me, I was there during grunge, I know the schematics of what you are saying, industry wise. And I do know they are different in many regards. And I'm all for people liking whatever they want
