I'm not so sure that's even a thing. The idea of "true love" is so based in fairytales. Love needs to be worked at - even if you do find your 'soulmate'. Don't ever imagine that you'll look across a room and your eyes will lock and that will be it - perfect, together, forever. It really is hard work sometimes. I'm sure even DRG will back me up on this one.

I guess my idea of "true love" isn't built in a Disney Princess tale. The way I found my "true love" with my wife was in the simplest of things. I HATE talking on the phone. I would much rather sit down and talk in person and the phone is just an annoying tool when you have someone that you could easily meet for dinner or head to their house. However, when my wife and I started dating, I would spend hours (up to 9+ consecutively) on the phone with her at night. She never bored me and I was always captivated by her answers to questions. Her opinions keep me on the edge. For a person who utterly despises the telephone to spend that much time on it because of the conversation that he was having had a real impact on me. It was the desire to seek each and every thought from her that showed me who exactly was my "true love". The idea of "perfection" is too farfetched for me to think as something achievable in life.

Also, when have you ever known me not to "back you up" on a topic? You're one of the smartest users I know because we have such identical thoughts on many topics

It wasn't that he came across as "shallow" as much as I didn't understand how looks could be a decisive factor in if someone was worth marrying or not. A chick could be a 10 on my scale, but without the depth, there is no way I would commit myself to something I still think to be a "lifelong" commitment.

I'm only 21 so maybe I'm being an idealist... but I think I'd rather have a 5 that loved to be around me and loved the things that I liked... than a 10 who had all conflicting interest with me.

It's not being a idealist... It's being real. The point is, don't settle for someone over an obsession you have had with her for 3 months. That's why it's okay if relationships move at a slower pace. Make yourself exclusive around that time, but don't head to Vegas just yet. I like the idea of someone being engaged for at least a year before actually getting married. It give you time to actually live with, balance finances with, and do all the things a married couple would do and still have the ability to walk away if there is some unseen fault that you can't tollerate for the rest of your life.

Also true,Now that you mention,In the most humble way possible,I am in fact that "Dark soul" ,hard to know,can be bitter/jaded and have a twisted outlook at times,And just not one whose bad side you wanna be on...That "Scary dude" was due to the fact I hated almost everyone in High School,It was no secret I was that loner on campus,It was either respect or nothin,the few good friends I had showed the constantt utmost respect and companionship,while as others just left me alone altogether.

Yea the sig pic I can understand as well,with all these quick replies in a row,I've never seen that many skeletons wearing suits.
