I have wondered why the active user numbers remain so low as well. I am not sure if the lack of focus on parts to the site outside the main news page is preventing them from moving deeper into the site. That bar on top doesn't really inspire one to move forward in the site (but the "On the Forums" and "Featured Blogs" does help). I also think that hosting the Disquss system for posting comments kept me from signing up for a while... Not because I didn't want to, but because I thought I had already signed up since my posts were showing up in the comments. Perhaps if you had to register with the site in order to comment on the news section, we would see an increase in active users... But even then, how many out of there are quality posters that you'd want being part of the community as a whole? I am all for new users, but let's face it; most active users are quality at the moment. Do we really want to fuck with that?
An actual phone App would be quite a nice addition. However, I doubt it will be supported through my shitty ass Blackberry. Sad, because I would use that frequently... All the more reason to invest in a Galaxy, I guess.
