Anybody watching the Oscars tonight? Even though I'm not that bothered about most of the films, and it's likely The Artist will win almost everything it's been nominated for.. I'm still oddly excited about it for the first time in many years.
Really pulling for either Terrence Malick or Woody Allen to win Best Director. Or even Scorsese, if only because he hasn't won it enough already! If Payne wins, I riot.
The Artist is almost definitely winning Best Picture, but it would be really cool if The Tree of Life won... I don't see it happening, but a guy can dream eh?
Gary Oldman and Nick Nolte siply HAVE to win Best Actor and Supporting Actor! Remember when these dudes used to be either large hams or flat out awful? It's amazing how they've matured with age.
Streep should probably win Best Actress for the millionth time too, her Margeret Thatcher is fucking uncanny. Almost closer to mimicry than acting.
A Seperation is supposed to be one of the best films of the past decade, so unless the Academy is made up of Islamophobes I imagine it'll take it.
Emmanuel Lubezki clearly deserves the Cinematography Oscar, no question. Should have won it at least once before now!
Anything else: meh.
