Eddie Guererro’s Death
Eddie Guererro was one of the most charismatic performers in the ring from the Attitude Era to the mid 2000s. His death shocked fans around the world. First, there was confusion which turned into sadness. What really plucked the heart strings of fans was during Eddies tribute show on Raw when Chris Benoit openly sobbed while paying tribute to him, because as most wrestling fans know, the two were the best of friends.
Connor The Crusher’s Hall of Fame Induction
Connor Michalek was an 8 year old who was obsessed with WWE, and more specifically, Daniel Bryan. He made a connection with the superstars and even was part of Bryan’s celebration at Wrestlemania XXX when he won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Unfortunately, Connor was no ordinary child. He had cancer of the spine and brain and died shortly after Wrestlemania. In 2014, the late Ultimate Warrior’s wife presented Connor’s father with an award at the HOF ceremony, touching the hearts of even the most masculine wrestling fans.
Shawn Loses His Smile
Shawn Michaels, one of the most decorated superstars of all time, decided it was time to retire on February 13th, 1997 due to some sort of knee injury. “Over the last few months, I’ve lost a lot of things, and one of them has been my smile.” He gave the crowd a tearful speech. If you watch the video, you can see many tearful female fans in the audience. Even Jim Ross said that he had never felt such pain in his 25 years in the business. Though most fans know he most likely left so he wouldn’t have to drop the belt to Bret Hart, the speech and the hug from Vinny Mac himself was enough to move anyone to tears.

The Undertaker is known for a lot of things, but his undefeated streak at Wrestlemania is what makes him one of the most legendary performers in the ring. He went 21 Wrestlemanias without losing one match, that is until Wrestlemania 30, when Brock Lesnar hit him with 3 F5’s and pinned the man we thought would never die at Wrestlemania. Shock and disbelief was followed by tears and sadness as the Undertaker shakily walked through the curtain after his first defeat
Owen Hart Dies at Over The Edge 1999
Owen Hart, known in 1999 as the Blue Blazer, was scheduled to go against The Godfather at a PPV called Over The Edge. However, as Owen was about to make his entrance, descending from the ceiling in a humorous superhero manner, the cable snapped and he fell at least 60 feet from the rafters to the ring, landing head first on a turnbuckle. They say he sat up for a moment, only to fall back down before paramedics rushed to him. The live crowd was shocked, not knowing if what they had seen was an act. The crowd at home, though, was watching a previously filmed promo, so they had seen nothing. It wasn’t until Jim Ross nervously and sadly announced Owens passing that reality sunk in, and tears began to flow.
