Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns (WrestleMania 31)

Well, I basically just earned hate from everybody in the IWC for this one. Roman Reigns? You must be a little kid fan who likes superhero characters. Blah blah blah.

This match proved Roman Reigns to me. He may not be Paul Heyman on the mic, may not be Daniel Bryan in the ring, but he has it. I truly believe he has it, he just hasn’t quite found it yet. This match made me appreciate Reigns and I’d give him a pat on the back for this match. He took a beating. A brutal beating and kept coming. He looked the Beast in the eyes and kept coming at him. Lesnar was at 100% Beast in this match, and it was a violent match. This looked like a fight, and Reigns had to fight to survive. The blood made this match more emotional and more dramatic, and for a match that was supposed to be Lesnar/Goldberg II, it was not. Absolutely not. This was a true title match, with an undefeated champion and a real number one contender. Then, the shocking cash in of Seth Rollins capped off this main event. History making cash in, along with such a violent match, made this match one of my favorite Lesnar matches to watch. His Beast persona was in full effect, and on this night, Suplex City Bitch was born. I loved the action, the suspense, and the surprise that eneded in the Heist Of The Century.

Reigns is hated by everyone because he is allegedly pushed down our throats and “not ready yet”. I strongly disagree with the pushed down our throats comment, as he has barely main evented any PPV and is just now getting back in the title picture and didn’t even win that title match at WrestleMania. And none of us have the qualifications to judge a professional wrestler on whether or not they are ready for a position. They have to at least have a chance to try and see how they’d fare in certain spots, and Reigns was given a chance to see if he could make it in a WrestleMania main event, and I believe he pulled through. Guys, most pro wrestling careers last around fifteen to thirty years, give Reigns time to learn. Be patient and just enjoy something else if you don’t want to give someone a chance.

Brock Lesnar vs John Cena vs Seth Rollins (Royal Rumble 2015)

Action. Pure action is what this match was, and what a match it was. A Triple Threat Match done right, and I truly loved every second of it. I enjoyed seeing Cena and Rollins work, as they never cease to disappoint me, but adding in Lesnar made the triangle complete in a sense. Lesnar had everyone demolished and suplexed within five minutes, and the Beast was on the hunt. Lesnar was eventually kept down with that fantastic elbow from the top rope through the announce table. I don’t recall if he was legitimately hurt or not, but we didn’t see Lesnar for quite some time. The Phoenix Splash was jaw dropping and then the surprise suplex from Lesnar afterwards was such a great flow of action. The entire match was a maze of flowing action, and included some constantly replayable spots. J&J Security were entertaining as always, and escially when being lauchned from Lesnar’s suplex. It was jst an exciting match all around, and should have main evented Royal Rumble 2015.

Brock Lesnar vs Undertaker (Hell In A Cell 2015)

The best Hell In A Cell match since WrestleMania 28, in my opinion. Two of my favorite Superstars in my favorite match type, made this an easy pick for one of my most favorite Brock Lesnar matches. This was brutal, and neither needed to be a spot monkey in order to quench your thirst for violence. This was a true fight, not a wrestling match with a giant cage to stare at, which is what Hell In A Cell is nowadays. Lesnar’s early cut made me feel as if I were watching a fight that could end quickly and violently, but thankfully it lasted long enough. Use of the Cell along with the basic weapons made me appreciate the Cell matches of old, because this is what I felt like I was watching. Undertaker made Lesnar use every ounce of strength and wit he had to earn this win. Even though Lesnar used the low blow, I didn’t mind because its Hell In A Cell and its a fight, never turn your back to someone like Lesnar. Seeing the ring exposed and the hard unforgiving wood being used as well was truly an odd but excitng sight to see. I don’t recall ever seeing the ring used to such a degree in a match, but the creativity had my eyes glued to every second of this match.

Brock Lesnar vs Undertaker (Summer Slam 2015)

Honestly, what other moment from this match is more memorable than Undertaker’s laugh? Talk about keeping somebody up at night, Jesus. Anyways, this is what WrestleMania XXX should have been. This match was a slobberknocker from beginning to end. I loved Lesnar’s pre-match attack on Taker, and seeing Taker throw punches while still wearing his leather coat was awesome. This match had me very excited, as I didn’t honestly think I would ever see the two collide ever again. Taker made Lesnar fight like a dog is this match, as Taker wasn’t just going to give up so easily this time around. Talk about drama and action, this match was way more than I expected. The suplexes and the F5 through the ever so well placed announce table made me think realize, Undertaker still has it. The blood added to the match made it have that ever so rare prize fight feel. No reason to have buckets of blood, just a little bit to show they truly would kill each other if necessary. The low blow made some uneasy, but I knew I was watching an Undertaker who had nothing to lose and he knew he had to do anything to slay the Beast. Thank God they were given the main event, they deserved it. Lesnar showing his prowess as the Beast and Undertaker returning to form we hadn’t seen since 2013, made this a match that I, in my honest opinion, believe to be their best match ever.

Brock Lesnar vs CM Punk (Summer Slam 2013)

This is the match I consider to be the start of Lesnar’s true “Beast” persona. Up until this match, WWE tried to play into that whole UFC Heavyweight Champion deal a little too much. Lesnar is supposed to be an unstoppable monster of a man. A modern day gladiator, untouchable by any opponent. WWE kept hyping the Kamura Lock and how it broke Triple H’s arm twice and Shawn Michael’s arm once. While I do find it interesting when WWE tries to incorporate MMA into the product, they shouldn’t have done it with Lesnar after Extreme Rules 2012, when he lost to John Cena. That was just an incredibly stupid decision to have a legitimate fighter in Lesnar lose to John Cena, who had just lost to an actor at WrestleMania 28. Anyways, this rant should end now, let’s get back on track.

The reason why this match is my favorite Lesnar match as of today is because of Lesnar’s character showcasing his power and ability, along with CM Punk fighting tooth and nail with Lesnar. This was such an exciting match, and it had the big fight feel from start to finish. Watching CM Punk constantly and consistently use every trick in the book to try and keep Lesnar down was entertaining and had me on the edge of my seat. At one point I thought, maybe Lesnar can’t keep him down. That was the best part, high drama, action and the feeling of not knowing who will win is great. Sorry, but this should have been the main event of Summer Slam 2013. I like Daniel Bryan and his story at the time, but this match had the can’t miss prize fight feel and still does to this day.

This is my very first article, so tear it apart, give me any feedback and let me know how to improve. I want this to be a fun hobby, as being a college student can drive a man nuts sometimes XD Take care everyone!
