Linda McMahon's chief rival for the Republican nomination in the Connecticut U.S. Senate race has called her "unelectable" in a general election. The quote from Chris Shays follows a new poll showing Shays in a dead heat against Linda. Shays said that Linda can't address the issues facing this country and suggested that she was buying delegates for the Republican nomination.
"To me, the story is, she is simply unelectable," he said. "Do I think that she can buy some of the delegates? She did last time and she'll do it this time. I know not to put my faith on the convention, because there are a hundred ways that she can influence votes. Some legitimately and some not. I'm going to call her on anything I see that I think is inappropriate, and certainly illegal."
