WWE continued their impressive social media showing throughout Raw with over 40 terms trending worldwide during the TV broadcast. Last night, over 50 terms trended throughout the Royal Rumble PPV. We’ve explained some of the not-so-obvious trends.
After CM Punk called John Laurinaitis ‘Clown Shoes’, there were several related trending topics on Twitter.
Justin Roberts trended after Punk got him to join with the ‘Hey hey, goodbye’ song directed at John Laurinaitis.
Laurinaitis was seen backstage shaking hands with several WWE talent including William Regal and Curt Hawkins – which caused them both to trend.
Jerry Lawler trended after he poked fun at Daniel Bryan being a vegan. While on commentary, Lawler spoke about a banana having feelings!
Mike Tyson trended after the announcement he will join the WWE Hall of Fame was made.
The Rock trended after a special video package aired.
Kharma trended throughout the build-up to the Divas match. After she didn’t make her Raw return ‘No Kharma’ trended.
