UPDATE: Today at 2:31 PM ET, WWE ran a “Breaking News”
update on the WWE Network, which interrupted Slam City. Scott Standford gave the
update at the WWE Headquarters on how Roman Reigns is doing after surgery on his
hernia. Stanford said that Reigns’ surgery was a success and he will remain
overnight at the hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. As previously reported, he
was pulled from WWE Night of Champions.

Dr. Christopher Amann was on the phone and said “fortunately, everything
seems to be doing fine.” He added that Reigns was resting comfortably. When
asked what caused the Hernia, Amann stressed that it didn’t happen in the ring
and was a problem Reigns had been dealing with it. Reigns woke up this morning
with severe abdominal pain that got worse, so he contacted the medical staff at
WWE. He was told to go to the hospital. That’s when he found out it was an
incarcerated hernia. That means the hernia had a bit of intestine wrapped around
it, which required immediate surgery.

Reigns will be out at least four to six weeks, but it could take as long as
three months. Amann added that Reigns physical condition won’t help him recover.
He has to let his body and muscle heal before he can do anything physical. The
doctors won’t let him return until he’s cleared.
