According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Will Ospreay has been offered a full-time contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling. The offer came after he “tore the house down” in a match with KUSHIDA at the Invasion Attack event.
As previously reported, TNA Wrestling wanted Ospreay prior to him deciding to go to New Japan. As of late, Ospreay has been paired with Kazuchika Okada and his CHAOS faction in a main event storyline.
For what it’s worth, WWE also wants to sign Ospreay. If he goes with New Japan, he has the advantage that he can still live in the UK and work independents, and then fly in for tours. If he signs with WWE, he has to relocate to Florida. This was the scenario that kept Finn Balor from signing with WWE at first. WWE is offering low deals to sign, but they are WWE and that is a huge goal for some. Guys like Ricochet are making as much if not more than many WWE talents, working NJPW and Independents.
