According to multiple sources, Billy Corgan is set to buy a minority stake in TNA Wrestling. While two sources claim that the deal is complete, a third says that things are moving in that direction but is not 100% finished yet.
Many of you know Corgan as the lead singer of Smashing Pumpkins. He began working with TNA in April of 2015 as a Senior Producer of Creative and Talent Development. He is a longtime wrestling fan who did creative work for Revolution Pro and has been involved in TNA both on camera and behind the scenes since coming on board.
As of now, Dixie Carter will remain the majority over of the company and there’s no confirmation on how much of TNA Corgan will own. John Gaburick has said for a while now that TNA was seeking “strategic partners and investors.”
