DJ Zema Ion appeared on KDKA in Pittsburgh last week to promote the TNA iMPACT! Wrestling TV tapings and told the hosts that he’s been taking Lucha Libre classes twice a week. He also noted that he wants to become a “major player” in TNA this year but said his current contract expires in July.
The main reason that TNA Wrestling is running “One Night Only: Live” pay-per-view events is due to their international TV contracts. The current contracts force TNA to run monthly three-hour specials. Due to the company losing so much money by running live pay-per-view events due to production costs, etc. they began doing pre-taped One Night Only specials instead. This saves them a lot of money as talent is already in town for the iMPACT! TV tapings and the cost of doing pre-taped specials versus live specials is much less.
